GS Artists Swansea- Who we are?
GS Artists is an artist’s project on the High Street of Swansea. Formed in 2014 it has organically developed into a not-for-profit company in 2018, and is now run by a group of freelance artists, with a fair pay policy for all. (www.galeriesimpsonswansea.com)
Over the last 6 years we have worked extensively with emerging artists; supporting solo presentation’s, hosting talks from over 50 artists, and developing off site projects with an intergenerational group of creative practitioners based in Wales.
We are equally committed to working with our local community, having developed our engagement through our 9 to 90 Creative Community project with a dedicated website. (www.9to90creativecommunity.com) Through consultation the 9 to 90 has progressed from a prescriptive outreach project, to a community led one with a weekly art club, programmed and led by our volunteers.
All our activities have empowerment at the core all those involved in either the production or delivery of our projects.
GS Statement on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
We are dedicated to upholding a strong ethical stance that promotes anti-racism, opposes sexism, and condemns all forms of discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
We are committed to continuously educating ourselves and our team members on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strive to stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and evolving societal norms in order to maintain a proactive and relevant approach to creating an inclusive culture.
In line with our commitment to a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment, we want every member of our team to feel confident in speaking out against any wrongdoing without fearing any personal risks
We have a robust protocol in place to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of everyone involved. This includes implementing safety measures, providing clear channels for reporting concerns, and taking prompt action in response to any safeguarding issues that may arise.
We actively promote an atmosphere of inclusivity, where diversity is celebrated and everyone’s voice is valued.
We understand that discrimination, bullying, and harassment can take various forms, and we firmly condemn any behaviour that perpetuates these harmful practices.
In our interactions with the public, whether through exhibitions, events, or community outreach, we strive to create an environment that is welcoming, diverse, and free from discrimination. We embrace the opportunity to learn, educate and raise awareness about the importance of anti-racism, sexism, and equal treatment for all.
Ultimately, our goal is to cultivate an organizational culture that not only embraces diversity but also leverages it as a driving force for creativity, collaboration, and positive change. We recognize that by upholding these ethical principles, we contribute to a more just and equitable society, both within and beyond the walls of GS Artists.

Wellbeing for All
We are committed to providing our employees with a healthy work-life balance. Our employee engagement surveys tell us that achieving a satisfactory balance between developing a career and enjoying life away from work is a high priority for our people.
We recognise that achieving that sense of balance is a very personal thing; it is about choice and flexibility. We provide a range of support for employees to create an environment where everyone – whatever their commitments outside of work – has the opportunity to flourish, including:
1. Flexible working.
2. Career development.
3. Home-working facilities.
4. Support with managing time and stress.
We are committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for our team. We want our team to feel confident that they can expose wrongdoing without any risk to themselves.
