Here is a little more about the artists…

Jack Moyse is a photographer and artist based in Swansea, South Wales. His practice focuses on societal issues including the demonisation of migrants, ableism and mental health. He has been invited to speak at a range of colleges, universities, photo festivals and symposia, including the University of South Wales, University of Wales Trinity Saint David (Swansea), Carmarthen School of Art, and the Trauma Porn Symposium in Bristol, supported by the Bristol Photography Research Group. He has also exhibited and contributed to the Healing Through Photography conference at Belfast Exposed.

Menna Buss is a textile artist whose practice centres on designing frameworks for participation and co-creation. Since returning to her hometown of Swansea in 2015, she has developed a community-focused practice, partnering with schools, museums, galleries, theatres, Health Boards and arts organisations on projects driven by storytelling through textiles.

After graduating Menna worked in London as a costume supervisor, dresser and maker for theatre, including the ENO, Southbank and West End, developing strong skills in pattern cutting and creative problem-solving. She later travelled to Nepal, South Africa, India, and Central and South America, drawn by local textile traditions and the communities engaged in them.

In 2020, Menna taught herself upholstery, applying her tailoring expertise to furniture and objects, and has since collaborated with artists and interior designers on large-scale textile works, including Tamsin Leech-Griffiths’ ‘No. 8 Project’ and Owen Griffiths’ ‘Ways of Working’. Her practice is grounded in hand stitching and visible mending as means of anchoring, repairing and celebrating imperfection, alongside natural dyeing and cyanotype printmaking
