Our artist talks program, developed with mentor and board member Tom Goddard. We noted the polarity between the art ‘worlds;’ in Cardiff and Swansea, and the similarity with our shared love of our football teams.  We arranged these Home and Away fixtures, for both of our creative neighbours, aiming to transcend barriers, and link artists from differing regions, share life experiences honestly and openly. Each artist is invited to talk about their practice, but also how art and life fit’s in and how they survive. An intimate platform, it has proven very successful.

As Tom writes-
Although the pandemic has temporarily separated us all, in reaction, it has sprouted us all, in reaction, it has sprouted online talks, screenings, discussions and forums, bringing people together in the comfort of their own homes. This creates the potential to transcend barriers – linking artists, from different regions, with different experiences and skills, in a shared space.

Home & Away builds upon this with a talks programme for artists based in Wales and the UK, to get together, share their work and, more critically, share their life experiences honestly and openly. And it’s the latter that sets this apart, no front but instead a space for artists to talk from the heart, to relate and bring us closer together. TG.
